Almost everyone's first question after their pet
is created and they've gotten around is "How do I make more
gold?" I've written a little How-To document that should help
you become an expert at generating those beloved gold shells.
How To Earn Gold on GoPets - UNDER CONSTRUCTION
One of my first questions when I started GoPets was
"How can I make more gold?" Everyone
wants to buy cool items for their pets. And the 50 gold to adopt a new
pet seems a long way
off, doesn't it?
Here's how I made enough gold to create four pets and then go beyond
there to get the
items I want for my pets!
The basics
Shells are needed to buy anything for your pets or your desktop, whether
it be clothes or
decorative items. Learning how to make shells abundantly will allow you
to enjoy GoPets to
the fullest.
Gold Shells - Needed to buy most clothing and other items
in GoPets stores
Pink Shells - Needed to purchase some items in GoPets, but also
very useful in turning into
Gold Shells. Buy Pink Fortune Cookies with 60 pink shells and you have a
chance at getting
some gold.
Green shells - Needed to purchase some items in GoPets stores
Blue Prize shells - Obtained through playing the minigames. You
may use these shells to buy
pink fortune cookies, which may have gold, the Food Box which will have
food that will again
increase your pink and green shells, or other prize items which you
could sell in your user
store.
In the beginning...
When you first start out on GoPets with your first cute pet, you're
given a Big Magic Box filled
with items, along with some food and fortune cookies. These items are
GOLD!
FOOD = GOLD!
Don't put the food for sale in your shop where it'll rot. Put the food
items out for your pets to
eat! You will collect pink and green shells, which you can use to buy
pink and green fortune
cookies.
Your Big Magic Box = GOLD!
I thought certain items were ugly when I started GoPets and I just sent
them to new friends
on my list because I wanted to be nice. Little did I know that I could
have sold these items for
gold! And later, as I used GoPets more, I found myself seeking out these
items, only to buy
them again for my collections.
*Clothing, Wigs and Other Wearable Items
*Nameplates - Don't underestimate the value of your
nameplates! Some simple looking
nameplates can be worth quite a bit of gold. Go to the Search screen and
type in the
Nameplate's name. You will see the retail value of the nameplate. In
your Big Magic Box you
will typically receive one rather high-value nameplate.

Your Store
Pricing
What people typically won't from your store - high priced, facial hair
(recycle), food (give to
your pets), fortune cookies (give to your pets). Best pricing - about
half off original retail price
for fast sell. What do you like to sell? Concentrate on that - I like
selling hard-to-find
nameplates and kimonos. So I'm always looking for good deals in user
stores. Others like
specializing in selling hats, wigs, prize-shop items - it's your store!
The Search field is your friend
Daily Ways to Generate Shells
Fortune Cookies = GOLD!
Every day you're given either pink or gold fortune cookies from admin.
Feed them to your
pets! Do not put your fortune cookies for sale in your store - they'll
just rot in there forever.
I have received 11 gold in fortune cookies several times, and have known
others to have
received 21 gold from a pink fortune cookie! That's nearly half a pet
adoption right there.
Sending your pets to friends = GOLD!
BUILD your friends list! The more friends you have that are online, the
more you'll be able to
send your pets to your friends' desktops. When you call your pet home,
Leaving your Client Open=GOLD!
Posting Testimonials = GOLD!
Each testimonial you post is 5 pink. Get 60 of those, and you can buy a
pink fortune cookie.
With that you have the potential of obtaining anywhere from 1 to 21
gold. Sometimes you'll
just get food
Loading IKU images = GOLD!
Citron Tea and Orange Juice = GOLD?!
Recycling Items=GOLD!
After you've collected all the facial hair items you could ever want,
you start dreading seeing
these items in treasure chests and user shops. Click the item and
recycle it for extra green
shells!

Search User Stores for Bargains
Telling your friends about GoPets
Sell your creativity! sigs/avatars/custom items
Buy a subscription!
Ask for one for your birthday or a holiday.
Don't beg for gold
Avoiding Temptations
If you are saving for a pet adoption, 50 gold seems forever far away.
But don't give into the
temptation to spend your gold on some new shiny thing! Resist buying
items you don't need,
and you'll have a new pet in no time.
