About Me

Computers have been my passion since the first personal computer arrived on the scene. I started this web page long ago at the prompting of my college friend, who got me started using Frontpage to develop my web pages. I still use Frontpage mostly because I'm familiar with it and can work fastest in it.

I have many other interests which keep me spread out between all things. My latest craze is blogging. At first I was like, "Who wants to keep a personal diary on the net? Not me! What a waste of time!" It's just like me though to fall into the hottest techie craze, and fall hard I did. I do once in awhile keep my daily happenings on LiveJournal, and some important or fun articles on my Sunnypad blog called sunny days, starry nights. However, I'm working on ways to incorporate my daily stuff also on my Wordpress blog here and then have those entries copied to my LiveJournal. What I like most about blogging is that it's quick, it's easy, you get some recognition (doesn't everyone love that?) but most of all I can use blogs to organize and archive any articles and finds, for both my own personal use and for others. I'm working on setting up several specific topic blogs in the near future, namely a technical blog and a macrobiotics journal.

Family? I'm married with two kids.

Video games - love playing Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon with my kids

Macrobiotics - I followed this eating lifestyle for quite awhile about 10 years ago. After my last child was born I gradually got away from it and tried to get back into it. I've had recent urgings to try to bring myself back to a good macrobiotic diet and lifestyle regimen.

Web design - it's fun and relaxing for me

Photography and Flickr - I got a digital camera last year to learn to use digital images and Photoshop. I love my camera and am incorporating my photos into Flickr. I love sites with community.

Astronomy - I am an amateur astronomer. I've accepted that I'll probably never be a professional astronomer, even though that was my career direction since childhood. At one point I plan to buy a very nice telescope and do some astrophotography.

Star Trek - I've been a maniac since I first saw Mr. Spock when my brother was watching the show. Deep Space Nine is my favorite series.

All things Japanese - I don't know why. I've had this craze since I was a little kid.

Martial Arts - I earned my first degree black belt (shodan) in Shotokan Karate years ago. I don't train regularly any longer, but the art still interests me. I'm interested in finding a school that fits my new needs in the area where I now live.
